Infante Henrique, Duke of Coimbra Dies Aged 67
The youngest brother of the head of the House of Bragança, Infante Henrique, Duke of Coimbra has passed away on February 14 at the age of 67.
Infante Henrique had suffered from cancer for some time. According to the Portuguese media, he had also taken a fall last month which left him with traumatic brain injury.
The Infante – whose parents were Duarte Nuno, Duke of Bragança and Princess Maria Francisca of Orléans-Braganza – was fifth in line to the headship of the house. He never married and had no children.
A statement released by the House of Bragança said that Henrique will be remembered “for his good humour and the support he provided to his brother”.
