A Kiss From A Sea Lion? Not Quite What Princess Stéphanie Was Expecting

Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and her elder daughter Pauline Ducruet received a surprise morsel of affection during a photocall on Tuesday to mark the upcoming International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo.

The duo had agreed to pose with a sea lion, when the animal decided to move closer towards the two women and give them a ‘kiss’ on the cheek. Both Stéphanie and Pauline were quick to step away from the sea lion, before gamely going back up to stroke its head.

The circus festival, in its 41st year, is held under the patronage of Princess Stéphanie, who helps to organise the event each year. It will kick off on Thursday.
