Second New Year’s Court Takes Place in Denmark

The second day of New Year’s Courts has been held in Copenhagen this morning, with Queen Margrethe II welcoming the members of the diplomatic corps to Christiansborg Palace.

Takin place in the Riddersalen, 75 of the ambassadors currently stationed in Denmark greeted the royal family – which today was limited to the Queen and the Crown Prince Couple – many in the national dress of their respective countries.

Queen Margrethe donned her own ‘costume’ for this event – a navy blue brocade evening gown with brown fur trim around the neck and wrists. Crown Princess Mary opted for a redone silver gown she first wore in 2008, however this time the matching jacket was left off and the bodice had been changed to plain silver silk (not this blogger’s favourite of Mary’s dress renovations).
