Happy National Day Bhutan! Royal Family Celebrate in Trongsa
Bhutan has celebrated its 109th National Day today with festivities in the town of Trongsa, located in the centre of the country. The Royal Family were present, with King Jigme Khesar leading the celebration.
“We may be a very small country with a small population, but our people have always been strong, intelligent and capable. But since that alone does not suffice in this day and age, we have also worked in cohesion and with a sense of solidarity to achieve our success,” the King said in his address to the people, also speaking of the advances that have been made in the country in the past decades, as well as his hopes for the future.
Queen Jetsun Pema was seen at the celebrations with the couple’s infant son, the Gyalsey, alongside the previous King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
