Queen Elizabeth II Hosts Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace
The Duchess of Cambridge joined senior members of the Royal Family on Thursday night at the annual Buckingham Palace diplomatic reception, wearing Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara.
Catherine first wore the diamond and pearl piece at last year’s reception; this year pairing it was a repeated red evening gown from Jenny Packham.
Over 1,000 guests from the diplomatic community – many wearing the traditional outfits of their nations – attended the reception, which was hosted by Queen Elizabeth. The Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke of Cambridge were also present.
In a first, Buckingham Palace released a photograph of the three royal couples posing prior to the reception. They are shown in one of the halls of the Palace, in front of portraits of German Emperor Friedrich III and his wife Vicky, eldest daughter of Queen Victoria.
