Saudi King Salman Visits Qatar
As part of his Gulf tour, Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has paid a short visit to the state of Qatar. He was warmly welcomed by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani the Emir of Qatar, and the Emir Father, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Along with popular celebrations in the capital Doha, an official ceremony was also held at the the Emiri Diwan (Palace) to welcome the King and his accompanying delegation. It was attended by the Al Thani ruling family members as well as senior officials.
During the celebrations King Salman was seen performing traditional “Ardha” dance joined by the Emir Sheikh Tamim and a Qatari folklore band.
In recognition of the Saudi monarch’s visit, the Emir of Qatar gifted him the Sword of the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, the highest national decoration, which is carried by the Emir of the State and to be presented to Kings, Presidents and Princes.
