Charles and Camilla Continue Tour of Oman, Before Heading To The UAE
On their second day in Oman, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall had seperate engagements linked to their personal interests before they left the country for the next stop on their Middle East tour.
Prince Charles had meetings with a number of representatives of Omani organisations and youth leaders that encourage community efforts; including Anisa Al Raisi, a trekker who is aiming to become the first Omani citizen to trek the North Pole in April 2017.

Meanwhile, the Duchess paid a visit to the Dar Al Atta’a Bookshop, an arm of the Dar Al Atta’a charitable organisation that was opened in 2002. She met local schoolchildren and watched the reading activities they were participating in, before Camilla moved on to the The Children’s Museum and The Museum of Natural History where she opened the country’s first library for children.
Later in the day the couple rejoined for the flight to Abu Dhabi, where their only event of the day was centred around religious tolerance: Charles and Camilla toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which they saw during the construction stage in 2007. A gathering of people from different religions was then held to “celebrate the work the United Arab Emirates is doing to promote tolerance”.
