Dutch State Visit to Australia: Last Day, Brisbane
Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima spent their last day of the state visit today, Friday November 4, in the city of Brisbane. Arriving in the city yesterday evening, the King and the Queen began their visit this morning at Government House where they were officially welcomed by Paul de Jersey, Governor of the Queensland, and his wife Kaye.
Then the signing of the Guest Book took place a meeting along with some members of the Dutch delegation. Later the Royal Couple paid a visit to the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

At the university the King and Queen visited The Cube, one of the world’s largest digital interactive learning and display spaces that is focused on the engineering research, attended a seminar about the water management they were also informed about the development of a project in cooperation between Australia and Netherlands in the field of flood management.

After a boat trip on the Brisbane River, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visited the Queensland Art Gallery where they viewed the exhibition “Indigenous Australian Collection” a display of Indigenous Australian art with a combination between old and contemporary pieces.

The last event took place in the City Hall of Brisbane where the King and Queen met the Dutch community living in the Queensland.
