Queen Letizia and Princess Lalla Salma Attend World Cancer Congress in Paris
Spain’s Queen Letizia and Morocco’s Princess Lalla Salma have today attended the World Cancer Congress hosted at the Palais des Congrès de Paris alongside French President Francoise Hollande. Princess Dina Mired of Jordan was also present.
The Queen delivered one of the congress’s opening speeches, praising the work done by researchers and encouraging that research continue. “Resources dedicated to these means are paramount due to the ever increasing costs of new treatments. Treatments that should be affordable and accessible, on equal terms, to every human being,” she said.
The 2016 congress is being held under the theme, ‘Mobilising Action – Inspiring Change’, and brings together approximately 3,500 experts from around the world to discuss research and developments into cancer.
