Prince Philip Officially Opens BA i360 in Brighton
The Duke of Edinburgh was in Brighton today to officially open the British Airways i360 vertical cable car, the first in the world.
Sitting adjacent to the remains of West Pier, the BA i360 offers 360-degree views of the seafront from its peak height of 162 metres. It has been designed by the architectural firm who designed the London Eye, Marks Barfield.
Prince Philip was given a trip on the i360, heading to the top of the attraction in its 200-people capacity glass pod. He later visited the i360’s control room and met the engineering and construction teams who built the tower.
