Queen Mathilde Visits Two Exhibitions In Paris

Today, Wednesday October 5, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde was in Paris to pay a visit to two differents exhibitions of Belgian artists of the 20th century.

The visit began at the cultural center Centre Pompidou where is held, since September 21, the exhibition “Magritte The Treachery of Images”, dedicated to the Belgian surrealist painter Rene Magritte. In this exposition are shown emblematic works of the artist combined with less known pieces from public and private collections. The exhibition will be opened until January 23, 2017.  The Queen toured the exhibition and posed for some picture near to the most famous paintings.

The next visit took place at the Grand Palais, the exhibition hall and museum complex located at the Champs-Élysées. The exhibition At the Grand Palais has been held since September 28. The exhibition is about Georges Remi, known as Hergé, a Belgian cartoonist. Hergé, considered the “father of the European comic strip”, is the creator of The Adventures of Tintin, a series of of 24 comic albums. In the exhibition, a large retrospective of Hergé works with also original drawings. The exhibition will run until January 15, 2017. Queen Mathilde made a tour of the exhibition and posed for the pictures.
