Danes Attend Opening of Parliament

The 2016-2017 Parliamentary Session has been opened today in Denmark, with members of the royal family in attendance.

Greeted on the stairs of Christiansborg Palace by the Presidium of the Parliament, Queen Margrethe was escorted into parliament by its Speaker, Pia Kjærsgaard. The Queen looked lovely in a red ensemble, while both her daughters-in-law Crown Princess Mary and Princess Marie stuck to neutral tones (though Mary accessorised with navy blue). Princess Benedikte opted for navy blue with a bronze hat.
