King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia welcomed 180 guests to the Royal Palace of Stockholm this evening for another edition of the Sweden Dinner, first implemented in 2013 as part of the King’s 40th jubilee to honour Swedes who have made ‘significant efforts locally, regionally or nationally’.

They were joined by Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia in greeting the guests ahead of dinner being served in the White Hall.

Guests feasted on duck liver mousse with baked figs and rye bread crisps, butter-baked pike-perch with vegetables, and a dessert of blackberry mousse.

Both Princesses recycled black and navy blue evening gowns, while Queen Silvia opted for a shiny dark blue number.
