Frederik and Mary Commemorate Fallen Danish Service Personnel At Annual Flag Day Ceremonies
The Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark today commemorated the nation’s fallen servicemen and women on the annual ‘Flag Day’ which is used to remember the individuals who have been killed in conflicts since 1948, as well as honour the 65,000 plus who have served abroad.
First Frederik and Mary laid a wreath at Monument for Denmark’s International Effort since 1948 at the Citadel. The monument was finalised in 2011, and is designed in three spaces, one of which bears the inscription ‘One time – One place – One human’.

It was then on to a church service at the Holmens Kirke, before the couple were present for the parade in Christiansborg Palace Square, where the Crown Prince inspected the gathered troops and took the salute.
Crown Princess Mary kept her look classic in an outfit of repeated pieces: a black and white cream floral dress from Ralph Lauren paired with a black blazer and beige accessories.
