Queen Elizabeth Joined by Charles and Anne For Braemar Highland Games
The annual Braemar Highland Gathering took place today at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Braemar, Scotland, with Queen Elizabeth joined by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence for this year’s games.
Sitting in the royal pavilion, the royals were in stitches, sharing laughs amongst themselves, as they enjoyed the traditional events – Highland dancing, tug-of-wars, piping and the mace toss.
Queen Elizabeth is the patron of the event, which this year is raising funds for locals who were affected by Storm Frank back in December, which caused the River Dee to burst its banks.
The monarch wore a gorgeous lilac wool crepe dress and coat with a matching hat, standing out from the rest of the crowd. The Duke and Prince Charles were both in kilts, while Princess Anne wore a tartan skirt.
