An Engagement in the House of Hanover

Prince Ernst August of Hanover, the heir to the headship of the House of Hanover, has announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Ekaterina Malysheva.

Confirming the news to German newspaper Bild “with great pleasure”, the Prince also said the wedding will take place next summer in Lower Saxony, where the Hanover family has their official seat, Marienburg Castle.

The couple have been dating for five years, and apparently got engaged on the Greek island of Spetses. Ms Malysheva is a fashion designer based in London, where Prince Ernst August also lives.

The Prince is the elder son of Prince Ernst August V of Hanover and his first wife, Chantal Hochuli.
