King Abdullah & Queen Rania Attend Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
Accompanied by his wife Queen Rania and as the guest of honour, King Abdullah II of Jordan attended on Sunday the 2016 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo which took place at the UK’s historic Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.
During the event the couple watched a number of tattoos performed by military bands from different part of the world including the Jordanian bands: the Royal Jordanian Honora Guard – Silent Drill Team, the Jordanian Armed Forces Band, the Royal Guards Brigade and the Circassian Guards.
Upon their arrival to the event site, the King and Queen were welcomed by British Defence Secretary Michael Fallon, the Governor of Edinburgh Castle and a number of senior military officials as well as Jordan’s Ambassador to the UK, Mazen Homoud.
The participation of Jordanian bands in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo this year comes as the Kingdom also celebrates the first centenary of the Great Arab Revolt which was founded by king Abdullah II’ great-great grandfather Sharif Hussein bin Ali of Mecca.
