Count Björn Bernadotte af Wisborg married his girlfriend of five years, Swiss-born Sandra Angerer, yesterday in a religious ceremony on his family’s estate on the island of Mainau, which sits in the middle of Germany’s Lake Constance.

The Count proposed to Sandra last June, and a civil ceremony took place on April 25th. The religious ceremony took place at the estate’s Schlosskirche St Marien (St Marien’s Palace Church) in front of the groom’s blue-blood family, including Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden; the bride’s family and the couple’s friends.

The new Countess Sandra Bernadotte wore a classic, empire-waisted gown by Swiss designer Eva Michaela Fröhli. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and lilies of the valley. The bride was attended by five flower girls in pastel-coloured dresses, wreaths of flowers adorning their heads.

A ball was held after the ceremony to celebrate the pair’s marriage. The newlywed couple intend on living on Mainau, where along with his siblings, Björn manages the island and the Lennart Bernadotte Foundation.
