Danes Open Rio’s Danish Pavilion on Ipanema Beach
A large contingent of Danish royals are currently in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the Olympic Games beginning on Friday night, and they were all present at Ipanema Beach today for the official opening of the Danish Pavilion.
Helped by his youngest nephew Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik cut the ribbon on the Pavilion which aims to promote Danish business, culture, sport and tourism during the Olympic Games.
Watching on were Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix and Princess Athena. The children joined their parents after the opening for a bike ride in the cycling area of the pavilion.
