The Duchess of Cambridge chose a new-to-her designer for her event at the Natural History Museum this evening, donning a cream off-the-shoulder midi-dress by Brazilian designer Barbara Casasola.

Paired with blush-coloured strappy heels and a sparkling clutch, the silhouette of the dress was different to Kate’s usual choices. The outfit overall would have benefitted from having her long, curled hair pinned back, to highlight the open neckline.

Kate was at the museum to present the Art Fund’s Museum of the Year 2016 prize, which was awarded to the Victoria and Albert Museum. The Fund provides museums around the United Kingdom with funding to assist in acquiring art works for their collections.

The Duchess spent time meeting with the five finalist museums, during which she mentioned to one of the curators from the Jupiter Artland that Prince George “loves the 3D sculptures” at the Natural History Museum, particularly the dinosaurs.
