“I’m Still Alive” Quips Queen Elizabeth During Northern Ireland Visit
Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh have begun a two-day visit to Northern Ireland, and the Queen was straight to the point in her response to Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness’ inquiry on how she was.
“Well, I’m still alive…quite busy,” she said as she shook the Deputy’s hand during their meeting at Hillsborough Castle. It has been quite a busy few months for the 90-year-old monarch, whose milestone birthday saw a number of official birthday celebrations spread between April and June (and then there was the small matter of Britain voting to leave the European Union on Friday…).
The Queen also had a meeting with the First Minister, Arlene Foster.
Earlier, she and the Duke were welcomed at Belfast Airport by the HM Lord-Lieutenant of Belfast, Fionnuala Jay-O’Boyle.
