Royal Runners All Round On Fourth Day of Ascot
It wasn’t just The Queen who had a horse running today. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall had Carntop running in the King Edward VII Stakes. A short interview with the trainer Ralph Beckett revealed that Charles and Camilla are both very passionate about their horses and their training. They were seen in the pre-parade ring before Carntop went out and placed 5th out of 9 horses.
Royals were joined in the carriages today by the Duke of Fife, Viscount Linley, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Prince El Hassan and Princess Sarvath El Hassan of Jordan, and the Queen’s horse trainer, John Warren and his wife, Lady Carolyn Warren, daughter of the late Earl of Carnarvon.
Sarah Ferguson joined her ex-husband and elder daughter in the enclosure, watching the royal procession arrive to the parade ring. Sarah performed a deep curtsey to Her Majesty whilst Princess Beatrice stood and waved as her grandparents passed by.
