Ladies Day at Royal Ascot
It was Ladies Day at Royal Ascot today, which was attended by various members of the royal family.
Those in attendance were the Queen, Prince Philip, the Duke of York, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the Princess Royal, the Countess of Wessex, Princess Alexandra, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lord Frederick Windsor, Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark, Prince El Hassan and Princess Sarvath al-Hassan of Jordan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid of Dubai and Princess Haya of Jordan, and the Duke and Duchess of Fife.
The races that took place today were the King George V Stakes, the Britannia Stakes, the Britannia Handicap, the Gold Cup, the Ribblesdale Stakes, the Tercentenary Stakes and the Norfolk Stakes.
Guy Fawkes, the Queen’s horse, had to be put down today after he broke his leg in the King George V Stakes.
