Silver Carnations Presented by Princess Beatrix
Dutch Princess Beatrix has presented the 2016 Silver Carnations of the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund in a ceremony at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam.
The awards are presented annually to individuals who have voluntarily worked to benefit the culture and nature of the Netherlands; Prince Bernhard, Beatrix’s father, started the Fund in 1950 and presented the awards each year until his 2004 death.
Princess Beatrix – dressed in a lovely royal blue dress and matching jacket – gave the carnations to Frans and Lideke Peese Binkhorst, Jack Kooistra and Eric Zwijnenberg.
