King Simeon Presents Spanish Edition of Autobiography ‘A Single Destiny’
In the presence of his family and the former Kings of Spain, Bulgaria’s last King – and a former Prime Minister – Simeon presented the Spanish translation of his autobiography Simeon II of Bulgaria: A Single Destiny at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid.
At the conclusion of the presentation, King Simeon specifically thanked King Juan Carlos, his good friend for over five decades, for all his support over the years before giving him an emotional hug. For his part, King Juan Carlos said that he “always considered that Simeon is a special man…no one who reads your book will doubt this is a man with a unique destiny: a King who loves his country immensely, a person who rises to the challenges that life has dealt him”.
Among those in attendance were Simeon’s wife Margarita, and three of the couple’s children, Kubrat, Konstantin and Kalina, with their families, and Princess Miriam, the widow of the couple’s late son Kardam; as well as Queen Sofia and Infanta Pilar of Spain
