The Princess Royal attended the Founder’s Day parade at the Royal Chelsea Hospital today, receiving the salute from the Chelsea Pensioners in the grounds of the hospital.

Anne wore a pale blue brocade suit with a bright blue hat, which helped those in attendance to spot her amongst the red tunics of the veterans who call the hospital home. As per tradition, the Princess wore a sprig of oak pinned to her lapel.

Founder’s Day marks the anniversary of King Charles II escaping parliamentary forces following the 1651 Battle of Worcester.
