Queen Elizabeth Presents Epsom Derby Winner’s Trophy to The Aga Khan

Dressed in a fresh cornflower blue and white outfit, Queen Elizabeth presented the winner’s trophy for The Derby to the Aga Khan during the Epsom Derby Festival. The Aga Khan’s horse Harzand was surprise winner for the race.

Also in attendance for the day was the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of York, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra. They watched the races from the Royal Box, with the Queen’s high level of interest shown throughout on her face.

The Queen is a regular attendee at the Epsom Derby, having attended every year except for two since 1952. Unfortunately, her horses have never been able to win the event.
