Crown Princess Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania, has conferred the Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown of Romania (Marea Cruce a Ordinului Coroana României) upon Princess Muna of Jordan during a solemn ceremony held in the Hall of Honour at Peleș Castle.

The Order of the Crown of Romania was established back in 1881 by King Carol I in commemoration of the establishment of the Kingdom of Romania.  It was a State Order until the end of the Monarchy in 1947 and revived in recent years by King Mihai I as a Dynastic Order.

Princess Muna looked exceptionally radiant in a floor length gown of sapphire blue silk overlaid with sparkling, embroidered lace, which provided the perfect backdrop for the blue and silver stripes of the sash upon which the Order is held. The ceremony was a simple one, yet very meaningful and underlined the close friendship that exists between the the two Princesses, who shared a warm smile as the Order was handed over.

A formal dinner followed and was hosted by the Custodian of the Crown, who wore an elegant and regal turquoise silk dress designed with an unusual pleated effect around the bodice and skirt. Also in attendance was Prince Radu, who sat next to Princess Muna, together with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bucharest and a number of representatives from state institutions.
