Elizabeth II Attends Royal Artillery’s Tercentenary
As the Captain-General of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, Queen Elizabeth today was present at a review in Wiltshire to mark the 300th anniversary of the regiment’s formation.
She arrived in the State Review Range Rover wearing a pale pink tweed coat and frock from Karl Ludwig, before inspecting an armoured parade and watching a live fire display.
The Queen also gave a speech at the event in which she praised the efforts of the Gunners over the decades, particularly those who were involved in the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns: “The Royal Regiment of Artillery has since 1716 proudly served the nation all over the world and you have served with great distinction, especially so in the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
