Mary’s ‘Free From Bullying’ Program Hits Nurseries and Daycare Centres
Back in 2007, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark launched the ‘Free From Bullying’ program through her foundation in conjunction with Save the Children in an effort to reduce the amount of bullying amongst children. Up until now, it has been focused on kindergartens and primary schools, but yesterday it was officially launched in nursery schools and daycare centres.
The Princess launched the program at the centre Stien og Sommerfuglen in Vallensbæk, where she spent time playing and singing with the youngsters that are cared for by the centres during the day. During one of the songs – ‘Sleep My Little Buddy Bear’ – Mary had to help one of the little boys to balance the program’s purple bear mascot on his head (while she balanced one on her own).
