On the third day of the Women Deliver conference in Copenhagen, Queen Máxima was a new royal addition to the speaker list, as she joined a panel discussing the economic benefits that come from investing in women and how technology can help.

Crown Princess Mary and Princess Mabel were in the audience for the panel, during which Máxima said that “when we invest in women we invest in the whole family, the whole community” before saying how “digital tools create a huge potential” for the empowerment of women, but that “digital literacy is a big barrier” for women in second and third world countries accusing and using mobile phones.
