Palace Shares Details of Prince Oscar’s Christening
The Royal Palace of Stockholm has released some details about the chritening of Prince Oscar, which will be held on the 27th of May. The officiating clergy at the christening of the little prince will be the Archbisshop of Uppsala, Dr. Antje Jackelén. She will be assisted by Archbishop, assisted by Bisshop Dr. Johan Dalman (Chief Court Chaplain), and by Michael Bjerkhagen (Court Chaplain) and Rector of the Royal Court Parish.
After the christening ceremony there will be a reception for invited guests, after which a private lunch will take place. The invited guests are the immediate family, European Royal familie, and representatives of the Riksdag, the Government and other representatives of Swedish organisations.
Prince Oscar will be christened in the same gown worn by Princess Estelle, Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas at their christenings. The water used at the christening will come from a spring in Öland. They will also use the same christening font as for Princess Estelle. At the reception the prince will be laid in Karl XV’s cradle, which was recently used for Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas.
The Swedish court has opened a special website with information about the christening of Prince Oscar. The website says that instead of presents, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel hopes are hoping for donations to the ‘Crown Princess Couple’s Foundation’ instead. You can find the special website here.
