Queen Mathilde Presents “Queen Mathilde Prize” 2016
Yesterday, Thursday May 12, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde awarded the “Queen Mathilde Prize” 2016 in a ceremony held at the royal Palace in Brussels.The theme of this year was: “Each One, Teach One”, dedicated about the importance of tutoring young people who has issues in the school homeworks.
The winner of this year’s award was the “Ecole de Devoirs ASSISA” from Liege.
This school is active in the disadvantage neighborhood and helps a group of young students from 10 different nationalities who suffer of problems related to the school homeworks and aims to train a good education for the students in order to have an easier access to the higher education.
The school is run by a retired teacher and a group of volunteers and work in collaboration with students of Pedagogy and Social Sciences of the University of Liège. The “Queen Mathilde Prize” is awarded every year to an organization that helps vulnerable people and young children.
