King Willem-Alexander Visits Dutch Troops in Jordan

Today, Thursday May 12, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander paid an unannounced visit to the Dutch troops in Jordan. The brief visit in Jordan began with a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

Afterwards the King visited the operations area accompanied by the General Tom Middendorp, Commander of the Armed Forces. About 200 Dutch soldiers are active in the Air Force Middle East operations as part of the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria along with the international coalition. King Willem-Alexander visited the camp Snow City where Dutch and Belgian soldiers have their living area.

The King also went to the spot where are located the Dutch F-16s and it was informed by the soldiers about their work. The visit ended with a meeting with some military.
In a tweet posted in the official Twitter account of the Dutch Royal House, King Willem-Alexander said: “I am proud of our Dutch soldiers at the Air Task Force Middle East.”
