Japan’s Imperial Family Host Spring Garden Party
Members of the Japanese Imperial Family today hosted their annual spring garden party at the Akasaka Palace attended by hundreds of guests from Japanese society.
Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko led all the adult members of the family as they mingled with guests throughout the afternoon.
In traditional form, the Imperial ladies all donned suits in neutral and pastel shades of cream, greens and blues. Only Princess Tsuguko went a different way, in a darker blue suit with a sharp navy hat.
