New Swedish Prince Named Alexander
In a special council meeting at the Royal Palace in Stockholm a short time ago, King Carl Gustaf announced that his newborn grandson has been given the name Alexander.
Prince Alexander’s middle names are Erik Hubertus Bertil, and his grandfather bestowed upon him the duchy of Södermanland.
Erik is the name of the infant’s maternal grandfather, Hubertus is for his parental grandfather (one of the King’s middle names is Hubertus) and Bertil is for the late Prince Bertil, great-uncle of Prince Carl Philip.
