Dutch Royals Attend Koningsdag Concert

Ahead of the upcoming Koningsdag celebrations that will take place on April 27, this evening a concert was held at the De Spiegel theatre in Zwolle. King Willem-Alexander and his wife, Queen Maxima, attend. They were joined by Princess Beatrix and Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven.

During the concert was mainly classical music and guitar. The artists present this year were guitarists Jan Akkerman, Izhar Elias and Fernando Lameirinhas, singer Janne Schra and dancer Maria Robles. Also present The Firebird, Zwolle young band, flautist Ronald Snijders and Dudok Quartet.

The Koningsdag Concert is a tradition since 1985 and since 2014 the concert is held in the province where the Royal Family celebrates Koningsdag.
