Finishing their first day in Mumbai, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended a gala dinner hosted by the British High Commissioner to India and the British Asian Trust at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel that was attended by Bollywood actors, business and charity people.

Kate looked wonderful in a bespoke sapphire blue Jenny Packham evening gown, that had beading on the bodice and sleeves which was sewn in India. A matching shawl and clutch, black Prada  evening heels and a pair of statement earrings from Indian designer Amrapali.

The Duchess had her hair swept up in a lovely updo, allowing for her gown’s intricate beading to shine.

During the gala, raised funds for the three children’s charities the couple learnt about during the day: Childlike, Magic Bus and Door Step, William and Kate were treated to a special Bollywood dance performance by the Shiamak Davar Dance Company and spent time chatting with the gala’s famous guests, including Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan.

Prince William also delivered a speech, saying that India was “the first place on Catherine’s list that she told me that she wanted to visit” after the couple got married and that the pair were “honoured to be here”.
