Princess Sofia Visits Sophiahemmet For Last Engagement Before Birth
On March 31, Princess Sofia, Duchess of Värmland visited the surgical wards of the Sophiahemmet in Stockholm. This was the last engagement Princess Sofia will attend before the birth of her first child, which is due sometime this month.
She began her visit listening to a review of the hospital’s structure and a talk on how to work as a member of staff at the hospital. The presentations were hosted by Sophiahemmet’s CEO and head of medicine.

She was also given a talk by Ewa Malmqvist, who was part of the Health Unit of the hospital, which focused on the hospital’s work. Princess Sofia also joined in with some activities at the surgical ward.
During her visit to Sophiahemmet, Princess Sofia was interviewed by Johan T Lindwall from the Swedish newspaper Expressen. When asked about her thoughts of her visit to the hospital, one of her answers was; “I’ve been hearing a lot about their ambitions, values and what Sophiahemmet stands for.
