Sheikha Al Mayassa Opens Exhibition on Chinese Silk Work

Sheikha Al Mayassa bin Hamad Al Thani has opened a new exhibition at the Qatar Museums Gallery Katara that focuses on Chinese silk work.

The exhibition is entitled ‘Silks from the Silk Road – Chinese Art of Silk’ and is on loan from the Chinese National Silk Museum. During her visit, Sheikha Al Mayassa was shown how workers sew elaborate imagery on to silk.

The Sheikha is the chairwoman of Qatar Museums.
