Princess Astrid Visits Indonesia, Meets with President
Belgium’s Princess Astrid is currently on an economic mission to Indonesia with a number of government ministers, and she has met with both the country’s President and Vice-President.
On the second day of the visit, Astrid attended an “Best of Belgium” food and gastronomy event and also met with Vice-President Jusuf Kalla.

The purpose of the visit is to promote the growing ties between Belgium and Indonesia, and to promote the countries’ shared economic interests (Belgium is Indonesia’s 6th largest importer and exporter within the European Union).
Today, the Princess had an audience with President Joko Widodo at Jakarta’s Presidential Palace. She was also present at the presentation of Belgian sporting technology to the President of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Erick Thohir.

The mission will continue until March 19.
