Queen Máxima at the “Global Alliance for Banking Values” Meeting
As a Special Advocate of the UN Secretary General for Inclusive Finance for Development, Her Majesty Queen Máxima attended today, Tuesday March 8, at the 8th Annual Meeting of the “Global Alliance for Banking Values” (GABV) held at the Triodos Bank in Zeist.
The Queen took part at the panel discussion titled: “It’s Banking But Not As We Know It. Values-based Banking At a Crossroads”. The focus of the meeting was about the impact of technological developments in banking.

At the meeting were present CEOs from the world’s leading sustainable banks. The Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV), founded in 2009, is a independent network of banks and banking cooperatives that aims to use finance to deliver sustainable economic, social and environmental development.

This network has 28 financial institutions operating in countries across Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America and Europe and has its Secretariat headquartered at Triodos Bank in Zeist. The meetings of the “Global Alliance for Banking Values” will last until March 10.
Queen Máxima was appointed in September 2009 by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon as his Special Advocate.
