Princess Ingrid Alexandra Lights Youth Olympic Games Cauldron
Norway’s young Princess Ingrid Alexandra last night had the honour of lighting the cauldron at the opening ceremony of the Second Youth Olympic Games, held in Lillehammer.
Among the 13,000 who watched from the stands as the Princess lit the cauldron, using the same torch her father Crown Prince Haakon used to light the Lillehammer Winter Olympic Games cauldron in 1994, were the King and Queen of Norway and the Crown Prince Couple.
King Harald officially declared the Games, in which over 1,100 young people aged between 15 and 18 will compete in 15 Winter Olympic disciplines, open.
