New Phase in Nóos Trial Starts as Infanta Cristina and Iñaki Return To Court
Yesterday Infanta Cristina of Spain and her husband Iñaki Urdangarin returned to the courthouse of Mallorca. The couple arrived at 9AM to defend themselves against allegations of corruption. Iñaki and his business partner Diego Torres are considered the masterminds behind the Nóos scandal and responsible for embazzling €6.2 million from public funds.
According to Miquel Roca, defence lawyer of the princess, a new phase of the trial started yesterday. Seventeen suspects will be heard, among them the Infanta and her husband and 11 former elected officials from the regions of Valencia, Balearic Islands and Madrid.
