Japan’s Princess Mako Graduates from Leicester University
Princess Mako of Akishino graduated from Leicester University with a postgraduate degree in museum studies on Wednesday.
The Princess, who spent a year in Leicester for her studies incognito, said that she had had a “fruitful year” and hoped to “apply what I have learned at postgraduate school in the future.” She also thanked the university for providing the “opportunity to pursue my studies in such a favourable environment.”
Mako, the eldest grandchild of the Japanese Emperor and Empress, now holds a Master of Arts degree in Art Museum and Gallery Studies.
