Jordanian Royals Mark the Late King Hussein’s Birthday
In memory of his 80th birthday anniversary, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan visited this Saturday the tomb of the late King Hussein, who passed away in 1999 .
The couple arrived to the royal mausoleum along with their children Prince Hashem and Princess Salma where they laid wreaths and recited verses from the Koran. The family was welcomed by a group of guards of honor.
Crown Prince Hussein also marked the anniversary of his late grandfather and shared a video through the royal court’s official Twitter, Facebook and YouTube pages. The prince spoke about the late king Hussein’s vision and his role in building modern Jordan.
King Hussein bin Talal of Jordan was born on November 14, 1935. He ruled Jordan for 47 years following the abdication of the late King Talal until his death on February 7, 1999. He was succeeded by his eldest son Abdullah.
