King Willem-Alexander Visits The European Institutions
Today, Tuesday November 3, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander paid a visit to the European Institutions in Brussels. The King was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bert Koenders.
At his arrival to the European Parliament, The King was welcomed by the Parliament Speaker Martin Schulz. After posing for photos and signing the guest book, a meeting was held. Then King Willem-Alexander went to the European Commission where he met the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. A lunchtime, a meeting was held between the King and the Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans and other members of the Commission. The last meeting was with the president of the European Council Donald Tusk.
From January 1st 2016 to June 30 2016, The Netherlands will take the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
