Dutch State Visit To China: Day Four
With Queen Máxima forced to cut short the State Visit, she’s now in the Bronovo Hospital in The Hague to treat a kidney infection, King Willem-Alexander continued today, alone, the State Visit to China.
The King started the fourth day of the visit by visiting the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP). The institution, based in Shanghai, was founded by the central government and aims to train senior leaders and top executives in the business field. In his speech the King said that The Netherlands wants to strengthen and expand the contacts with China and also to continue the dialogue even if both countries may differ on the subject of opinions.
Later, The King went to the island of Chongming where he visited the Chongming Dongtan National Nature Reserve. He saw the resting place for migratory birds. In the presence of the King, an agreement was signed between the chinese State Forestry Administration and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). King Willem-Alexander also visited the National Engineering Research Center of Protected Agriculture (NERC) and the China (Shanghai) Free Trade Zone.
The fourth day ended with a reception at the presence of Dutch and Chinese businessmen. In his speech, The King stated that for The Netherlands is really important with the cooperation with China, the countries are partners in the agriculture, nature conservation, sustainable urbanization and health care.
