New Cooperation Between Swaziland and Ethiopia
King Mswati III of Swaziland recently met with the Ethiopian ambassador, who hopes to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, according to Waltainfo.com.
The king hopes that the two countries will sign an economic agreement that will solidify Swaziland and Ethiopia’s desire to work together to promote tourism and other interests. This might seem like an odd pairing, especially since the two countries are nowhere near each other geographically, but Swaziland could benefit from the partnership. The kingdom has seen its share of troubling times recently. It relies heavily on food donation and dealt with a severe drought in 2008. There is currently an internal debate regarding business development at the expense of fertile agricultural land, according to a report from Reuters.
