Final Event to Celebrate 200 Years of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
The Orange-Nassaus were out in force this evening, attending a concert at the Royal Theatre Carré that brought to a conclusion the celebrations that have been taking place over the past two years to mark the 200th anniversary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima were joined by Princess Beatrix, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien, Princess Mabel, Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, Prince Bernhard and Princess Annette, Prince Floris, and Princess Irene for the concert involving over thirty artists and performers, and focusing on performances on the Magere Brug (‘Skinny Bridge’) over the Amstel River.

The theme of the two years of events has been ‘Unity in Diversity’ to symbolise the many cultures, traditions and beliefs that have created the Kingdom over the past two centuries. Read more about the celebrations here.
